AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani was not particularly happy with the 1-1 draw against Inter in Serie A on Sunday, but praised the team’s goalkeeper Diego Lopez for his performance.

After a lot of pre-match banter during the week, the two teams shared the points on the field with Jeremy Menez giving the Rossoneri the lead halfway through the first half, while Joel Obi brought the Nerazzurri on level terms at the one-hour mark.

“If we had won we would get within two points of third place, since others have drawn [as well],” Galliani told Milan Channel after the Derby della Madonnina.

“This increases the bitterness. I heard from the president, he is satisfied.

“It was an even match, but we had more clear opportunities.”

He added: “Diego Lopez is a great goalkeeper, he is very good with his feet.

“He puts the attacker in trouble, and is a goalkeeper of international class.”
