Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini believes that he shares a special chemistry with the Rossoblu and admits that he’s happy with his team’s recent success in the Serie A.

The Grifone currently sit in sixth place in the league standings with 18 points after remaining unbeaten in their last five matches and the tactician has revealed that he’s pleasantly calm due to the Genoese side’s past few results, including a shocking 1-0 win over Juventus.

Gasperini spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about Genoa’s good form at the moment and commented on his positive relationship with the club.

“I’m not surprised by our success? Maybe positive results were expected to arrive immediately, but our main goal was to create an amalgam of the team as soon as possible,” said the 56-year-old, who previously coached Genoa from 2006-10.

“I’m happy and calm because the response following the victory against Juventus was eloquent. We have a strong desire to do well knowing that things may not always go our way.

“Genoa and I make the perfect pair? There is a special chemistry between us. It’s also true that my career in Serie A has mainly been spent here. I would say, however, that there is a positive energy.”
