Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has revealed that new coach Roberto Mancini has brought renewed feelings of joy and enthusiasm to the Biscione upon his recent arrival.

The Nerazzurri have done well in their first two matches under Mancini, earning a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and a 2-1 win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the Europa League, and the 28-year-old admits that he’s very motivated to help his team find success and remains satisfied with his role in the midfield.

Guarin spoke to UEFA.com after Inter’s victory against Dnipro about Thursday’s match and the San Siro outfit’s improved attitude since Mancini’s arrival, while also commenting on his preferred position in the squad.

“I am very motivated, just like the rest of the team,” said the Colombian international. “We ran and fought hard until the final whistle.

“Mancini has just arrived but has already brought joy and enthusiasm to the team. This is exactly what we’ve needed.

“For me, it’s not important to play in the midfield or directly behind the strikers. Right now I’ve been playing in the midfield and I hope to do well in that position.”
