Before this weekend’s much anticipated Derby della Madonnina between city rivals AC Milan and Inter, Japanese forward Keisuke Honda has stated that him and his teammates are focused for the match and wants to score against the Nerazzurri.

After a slow start to his Rossoneri career, Honda has been one of the shining stars for Milan this season, leading the team with six goals in 11 appearances so far and forming a good attacking trio with fellow strikers Jeremy Menez and Stephan El Shaarawy.

“I have always supported AC Milan as a child. They are one of the largest clubs in the world. It was a natural choice for me.” said the 28-year-old via Milan’s official Twitter page.

“The derby? We are all very focused and we feel the importance of the game. I will try to score as usual.”

The Japanese international went on to speak about his relationship with Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“Inzaghi has helped me a lot, starting with the [preseason] trip to the USA. He has given me many opportunities for growth.

“My objective? I want to score and assist goals because I am a striker.”
