Inter goalkeeper begins talks over contract extension

Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has opened talks with the club regarding a contract extension with the Nerazzurri.

Handanovic was named in Serie A’s team of the season for 2012/13 and has been Inter’s number one since joining, and it appears as though the club are keen to keep him in between the goalposts at the Giuseppe Meazza.

According to Tuttosport, the club want a reach an agreement with the player by the end of January in hopes of extending his current contract until 2018.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to increase his wages from €2 million to €3m a season, but it is believed the 30-year-old wants certain guarantees made regarding the club’s attempts to return to the Champions League

The Slovenian was signed from Udinese in the summer of 2012 for €11 million and has appeared 99 times for the Nerazzurri.
