Inter are reportedly looking to pursue Torino defender Matteo Darmian during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who has become a mainstay in the Italy team under coach Antonio Conte, has gained attention from a number of big clubs since the summer including Roma and Napoli, but may now be one of the main winter targets of new Nerazzurri boss Roberto Mancini.

According to SportMediaset, the Inter tactician is prepared to put up a fight for the Italian international’s signature in January, though it is understood that it will be difficult to convince Torino president Urbano Cairo to let go of the talented full-back.

Darmian, whose current contract with the Granata is set expire in June 2017, arrived at Il Toro from Palermo in 2011 and has notched a total of two goals and seven assists in 110 league appearances for the Turin side, with one of the goals coming in his 10 Serie A appearances this season thus far.
