Joel Campbell ArsenalArsenal forward Joel Campbell has expressed his desire to stay at the Emirates Stadium even though he has received very limited playing time so far this campaign.

The Costa Rican international came off an impressive World Cup and was hoping that his confident performances on the world stage would propel him to success in his club colors.

However, the 22-year-old has only played in two Premier League games thus far, prompting a host of interest from Portugal to Italy, with the latter being touted as the most likely potential destination for the player.

AC Milan was heavily linked to the player over the summer, but it appears now that Inter and Fiorentina have taken pole position should a bid be launched for the forward.

Unfortunately for the two clubs, Campbell himself has no desire to leave Arsenal.

“It is not true that I want to leave,” he told Arsenal’s official website. “I’m relaxed. It’s obvious that I would like to play more, but that’s something that has to be earned day by day.

“I have to keep training and waiting for the opportunity, I know it’s a very competitive team. Arsenal is one of the best teams in the world where there are many important players.

“I have to be patient and keep training. I know my chance will arrive and I’ll have to take advantage of it when it comes.

“[Arsene Wenger] is a great coach, and I learn something new from him every day.”
