Italy team doctor Enrico Castellacci has confirmed that Angelo Ogbonna and Mario Balotelli are both struggling with minor hamstring injuries.
The Azzurri doctor has spoken to Journalists at the Italian team camp at Coverciano ahead of their two matches against Croatia and Albania.
“Lets speak about Ogbonna: yesterday in the heat he felt a strain in his hamstring,” said Castellanacci to the press.
“We completed some tests and the MRI came back negative, however an ultrasound showed a little bit of swelling.
“We repeated the tests to get a better idea of the situation and they showed that there is no muscular problem.
“We will evaluate him once again and if there are problems then we will send him home, if not, then he will stay [with the national side].”
Castellanacci also revealed that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is suffering from a similar injury.
“Mario has a little problem with his hamstring. However it is unlikely that he will have to leave the national team.”
