Inter defender Juan Jesus has revealed that he’s honoured to be working under Roberto Mancini and has insisted that the Biscione will fully adapt to playing in the new coach’s formation in no time.

The 23-year-old has had to get used to playing with four at the back since Mancini’s return to the club on November 14 and admits that it’s normal to experience some mistakes at first after utilising just three defenders for quite some time under former boss Walter Mazzarri.

Juan Jesus spoke during a press conference ahead of Inter’s Europa League meeting with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday about getting used to his slightly different role on the pitch and expressed how happy he is to be learning from Mancini.

“I was doing good in the derby with this new defence,” said the Brazilian. “We had made some mistakes, but I think it’s normal after nearly two years with a three-man defence.

“We’re all trying to figure it out as soon as possible in order to be more relaxed on the field.

“What will change? When it comes to marking players, not much because we’ll be defending against everyone. Perhaps it will be better for Dodo in attack, but nothing really changes for the rest of us.

“Mancini? I am too young to really talk about him, as he was also a great player. It’s an honour to be coached by him, I have so much to learn and I’m just so pleased.

“I’m doing fine here. I’m here to always play, so as long as I’m playing I can only be happy.”
