Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has hit back at Italian national coach Antonio Conte after he complained of not having enough time with his players, particularly after calling-up several players for the friendly with Albania on Tuesday who were not involved in his initial squad.
The Azzurri were anything but convincing during a lacklustre draw with Croatia at the Giuseppe Meazza and a hard fought victory over the Albanians in Genoa and the 45-year-old believed his job of saving Italian football was being made harder if he cannot work with the squad until next March.
“I do not understand the problems of the coach,” Agnelli told Tuttosport. “He has had many days [with the players].”
However, the FIGC appear to be supporting Conte in his request with president Carlo Tavecchio confirming there will be further discussions between the ex-Bianconeri boss and the league.
