Basel defender Fabian Schar is attracting the interest of Serie A Champions Juventus, with a January transfer increasingly likely.
The Swiss international has been linked with numerous clubs in the past, including Premier League side Arsenal; with his contract set to expire in 2015, a January transfer could be the best option for his current club.
Sport Mediaset report that Massimiliano Allegri has singled out the 22-year-old centre-back to bolster Juventus’ defensive options. The player is thought to command a fee in the region of €12 million should a mid-season transfer materialise.
Schar has gained valuable Champions League experience playing for Basel and would add some youth to an ageing Juventus back line. The defender has also scored four goals in nine appearances for the Swiss national team.
