Juventus v Malmo - Carlos TevezJuventus forward Carlos Tevez has raised concerns over the condition of Malmo’s pitch but does not see it being an issue on Wednesday night in their Champions League group game.

The pitch at Malmo’ Swedbank Stadion has been criticised by both Juventus and Malmo players, who say that the surface is too soft. However, a repeat of the pitch seen in Istanbul last season is not anticipated as the weather has been good and it is not expected to rain or snow on Wednesday.

Even if the weather was to turn it should not present a problem as the stadium has a comprehensive undersoil heating system installed.

“I don’t like it, the pitch is bad for both teams, but we need to show that we can play on a bad surface,” he told the press.

Juventus did not train on Monday but Tevez refuted claims that this was anything unusual for the Bianconeri ahead of European matches.

“I think it’s a decision of the coach to train before the game, but in Vinovo. We have always done well in Europe and we only go for a walk as we arrive at the stadium.”

When questioned about his own form, the 30-year-old said: “My form hasn’t changed,  the coach gave me the freedom to play in a way that suits me better. It hasn’t changed much for me, I just drop a bit deeper to play with the ball more.”
