Fabian Schar - BaselFC Basel defender Fabian Schar has become Juventus’s prime target in the January transfer market as the injury bug has hit the Bianconeri back line hard and the squad is keen to quickly find reinforcements as they prepare a defense of their fourth consecutive scudetto run.

The Swiss international is likely to move from the club with which he’s won a pair of Swiss Super League titles, as the centre back is out of contract at the end of this season and appears unlikely to resign.

While the talented youngster is also being chased by Arsenal, Tuttosport report Juventus are prepared to battle for Schar’s signature until the end as coach Massimiliano Allegri has faith Schar has what it takes to fit into the Bianconeri system.

The 22-year old has been a fixture with FC Basel since his arrival in 2012 and has started 13 of Basel’s 16 Swiss Super League matches and all four of its Champions League fixtures this season.

Juventus have also identified Tottenham Hotspurs Vlad Chiriches and Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar as potential candidates should they be unable to secure a deal with Schar.
