Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly heaped praise on his side’s goalkeeper after he kept a clean sheet in the Partenopei’s 0–0 draw at Sparta Prague on Thursday evening.

The Brazilian has been an ever-present for Rafael Benitez’s side this season, and made a number of saves in the Europa League tie.

Koulibaly spoke to Napoli’s official Twitter account after the game.

“It was a tough game,” the French defender admitted, “they, like us, wanted to win. Now we have qualified we want to earn first place.

“The pitch was not great but that is not an excuse; we can do better in those conditions.

“Our goal was not to concede and Rafael was fantastic, as was all the defence.”

Napoli have conceded just three goals in the Europa League this season and, although they currently sit level on points with Sparta Prague in Group I, have qualified as a result of the head to head results between the two.
