Inter midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic believes that a victory over Roma on Sunday would mean that the Biscione are on the right track under new coach Roberto Mancini.

The 27-year-old, who scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri in their 2-1 European win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday, has admitted that the San Siro outfit are now fully concentrated on improving in the Serie A since securing qualification for the Europa League round of 32 and hopes that his squad can earn all three points in Rome.

Kuzmanovic spoke through Inter’s official Twitter profile on Friday about the Milan side’s determination to do well in their upcoming match against Roma and commented on his desire to provide more goals for his team.

“Yesterday we wanted to qualify for the next round of the Europa League and we did,” said the Serbian international.

“Now we can concentrate on the league because within two days we’ll be playing in Rome. We will go to the Stadio Olimpico to win.

“How far can we get with Mancini? If you’re going to play for Inter, you always have to aim to win. With the new coach we started well in the derby.

“Now we have to face Roma and if we can beat them then it will mean that we’re on the right track.

“My first goal with Inter? I was happy.

“Was I as excited as Joel Obi after his derby goal? I would have ended up breaking something. I just wanted this goal so much.

“I hope it’s not the last because it’s important to have midfielders who can score.”
