Lazio have been linked with Fabian Schar and Ron Vlaar as they look to reinforce their defence during the winter transfer window.
The Biancoceleste have gotten off to a good start in Serie A and currently are fifth in the table, only two points astray of the coveted third position, with their defence having conceded 13 goals so far this season.
According to Il Corriere della Sera, defence is Lazio’s first priority in the upcoming transfer market and Le Aquile have been linked with 23-year-old Fabian Schar, who plays for Basel, and Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar.
With their contracts set to expire in June 2015, both centre-backs are attracting international attention with Louis Van Gaal and Manchester United said to be interested.
Vojislav Stankovic is another defender, whose name has been attached to Lazio. The Serbian will be a free agent on December 31 and recently admitted to his dream of playing for the Rome based club.
