Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly ready to fight for the signature of Inter striker Mauro Icardi during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old, whose current deal with the Nerazzurri is set to expire in June 2018, is apparently having trouble fitting into new coach Roberto Mancini’s plans for the rest of the season, which may leave him open to accepting a move away from the club this winter if the right offer is to arrive.

According to the Daily Express, both Liverpool and Chelsea are willing to propose deals that are expected to be worth around €35 million in order to secure the Argentine’s services for the second half of the season.

Icardi, who joined Inter from Sampdoria ahead of the 2013-14 campaign, has scored a total of 16 goals in his 33 Serie A appearances for Biscione since his arrival, with seven of those goals coming in his 11 league appearances this season thus far.
