Inter legend Sandro Mazzola believes that the Nerazzurri will need to strengthen their squad if Roberto Mancini’s second spell in charge of the club is to witness similar success to his first.
In the wake of the 1-1 draw in the Milan derby, the former midfielder saw room for improvement within the Inter squad.
“Mancini will have to work hard to bring Inter back to the top,” the 72 year old mused to Radio Rai,”but I think that the club should spend on the transfer market.”
“The squad seems quite poor and even the best coach in the world can not work wonders if the players are not top class.
“The challenge between Mancini and [Filippo] Inzaghi on the bench? From the tactical point of view, neither has won. It was a draw even in this respect.”
Mazzola spent his entire playing career at Inter and was a key part of Helenio Herrera La Grande Inter team of the 1960s.
