Former Inter striker Diego Milito believes that Roberto Mancini is the right man to help lead the Biscione to success this season, as the club had previously been struggling under Walter Mazzarri.

The 35-year-old has revealed that he feels bad for Mazzarri after his sudden exit from the Nerazzurri, but admits that results are the most important thing when it comes to coaching a club and feels the return of Mancini will aid the San Siro outfit in their mission to improve from their current ninth place spot in the Serie A standings.

Milito spoke to GianlucaDiMarzio.com about the arrival of Mancini and what the ex-Manchester City boss brings to the Milan side, while also praising former Inter president Massimo Moratti and club legend Javier Zanetti.

“I feel a bit sorry for Mazzarri, but results count in football,” said the Racing Club man, who spent five years with Nerazzurri before leaving for the Argentine club over the summer.

“Mancini is the right coach to lead Inter at this moment. He knows this environment and is the right person to help bring Inter to the top again.

“Moratti? He was a unique president, he has given a great deal to Inter. He was like a father to all of the Inter players.

“Erick Thohir? I only know him a little bit. He’s trying to do his best for the club, so we must trust him.

“Zanetti? I hope that he become part of Inter’s history as a director at the club, just as he was able to do as a player.

“Carlos Tevez’s return to Argentina’s national team? His call up was deserved. He’s doing great things at Juventus, so it is expected to see him back in an Argentina shirt.”
