Cesena

Federico Agliardi – 6.5 – Confident

The 31-year-old was thoroughly composed throughout the night, providing much needed protection to the Cavallucci Marini’s goal – however, he was at fault for the Gialloblu’s equaliser.

Daniele Capelli – 6 – Composed

Capelli’s performance at the back was the epitome of no-nonsense defending, managing to protect the centre of Cesena’s defense for most of the game.

Stefano Lucchini – 6 – Wall

Providing a formidable partnership with Capelli and Volta on the night, the former Atalanta defender deterred any danger which came his way.

Massimo Volta – 6 – Calm

The defender on loan from Sampdoria, like his partners, played a sizable role in his side’s defensively astute performance.

Luigi Gorgi – 6 – Restricted

Was extremely active in the opening half-hour, however as the game progressed he became more and more restricted. Only seen on the attacking side when he took set-pieces.

Francesco Renzetti – N/A

Started the game off well before being taken off due to injury.

Giuseppe De Feudis – 7.5 – Dynamo

The Cesena skipper was not only able to protect his side’s defense, but contributed largely to his side’s attacking performance as well.

Emmanuel Cascione – 7 – Active

Similar to his midfield partner, the 31-year-old was able to prevent most of the danger coming his way, also came close to scoring on one occasion.

Carlos Carbonero – 6 – Invisible Soldier

Acquired on a loan deal from Roma, the Colombian was not in the picture as much as his teammates but played an important role in his side’s transition between defence and attack.

Gregoire Defrel – 7.5 – Tireless

Grit and stamina were the main components of the Frenchman’s game on the night, managed to put his side ahead with a composed finish.

Hugo Almeida – 5.5 – Fatigued

The Portuguese international showed glimpses of his ability when he assisted Defrel for the goal, but appeared to have tired out in the second half.

Substitutes

Antonio Mazzotta – 6.5 – Faultless

Came on for Renzetti in the first-half, providing a fantastic shift on the left-hand side.

Milan Djuric – 6 – Powerful

The Bosnian came on for Defrel late on in the second half, but squandered a wonderful opportunity to win his side the game in injury time.

Luca Kranjc – N/A

Hellas Verona

Rafael – 6.5 – Reliable

The Brazilian showcased exactly why he has been the starting goalkeeper for Verona; seldom tested on the night, but still managed to deny Cascione’s header deep into injury time.

Frederik Sorensen – 6 – Wary

The Juventus loanee was able to balance between attack and defense before going off after picking up a knock.

Rafael Marquez – 6 – Average

Despite the goal conceded, the Mexican led with example at the back, managing to prevent Cesena’s occasional breaks.

Vangelis Moras – 6 – Intelligent

The Greek defender showed a combination of intelligence and power when dealing with Cesena, working with Marquez to nullify the danger of Pierpaolo Bisoli’s men.

Davide Brivio – 5.5 – Anonymous

Very unlike his usual self tonight. Failed to provide a decent attacking shift, and was almost unrecognisable throughout the game.

Artur Ionita- 6 – Satisfactory

Was alright in the first-half, but gradually disappeared as the game progressed.

Emil Hallfredsson- 7 – Star

The Iceland international was everywhere in Verona’s midfield as his side were in search for an equaliser, but his temper worsened as the game went by.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis – 6.5 – Persistant

The Greek international did not find much spaces due to Cesena’s resilient defending, but kept trying to find a possible opening.

Juanito Gomez – 6.5 – Gritty

Equalised for Andrea Mandorlini’s men with a perfectly placed header, and kept trying to break down the powerful Cesena defense.

Nicolas Lopez – 5 – Subpar

In spite of his massive talent, the Uruguayan was a liability on the night; misplaced passes, and marginalised by Cesena’s defense in the first half. Taken off for Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.

Nene – 5.5 – Marginalised

Kept trying but found himself marginalised by the Cavallucci Marini’s defense.

Substitues

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos- 6 – Alright

Came on for the anonymous Nico Lopez early on in the second-half, and put in a decent shift in midfield.

Came on with 20 minutes remaining, but failed to impact the game.
