Inter and Hellas Verona shared the spoils and drew 2-2 at the San Siro on Sunday night in Serie A.
It was an awful start for the home side as Luca Toni gave Verona the lead in the eighth minute but a goal from Mauro Icardi levelled the game with less than twenty minutes gone.
The Nerazzurri eventually took the lead just after half time, with Icardi grabbing his second but a Gary Medel red card made life difficult for Inter and after Luca Toni missed a penalty, Verona finally grabbed a point with a minute to go through Nicolas Lopez.

Inter
Samir Handanovic – 6 – Solid
Despite letting in two goals, Handanovic wasn’t to blame for either and made yet another save from the penalty spot from Luca Toni.
Dodo – 6 – Lively
In true Brazilian style, Dodo was very lively going forward and a constant threat down the left but wasn’t always the most assured defensively against Icardi.
Nemanja Vidic – 5 – Struggled
Vidic was given a tough test against Toni and struggled against the experienced striker for much of it. Came very close to scoring from two set pieces also.
Juan Jesus – 5 – Shaky
The Brazilian defender also had a tough battle against Toni and really should be looking to do better.
Andrea Ranocchia – 6 – Calm
Didn’t have his best performance but was a calming influence and always eager to to receive the ball from his teammates.
Yuto Nagatomo – 6 – Restricted
Quiet by his standards, most of Inter’s play seemed to come from the other side but did try to make things happen when he got the ball.
Gary Medel – 5 – Liability
Was sent off after two silly yellow cards and that meant his team struggled with ten men for the majority of the second half.
Zdvravko Kuzmanovic – 7 – Threatening
The skipper was one of the livelier players for his side, hitting the post early on and looking a threat when he got the ball.
Mateo Kovacic – 6 – Reserved
Had his opportunities and did try to make things happen but wasn’t able to create much of note for his teammates.
Mauro Icardi – 6 – Isolated
Took his goal very well but struggled to get into the game after that, particularly after Medel’s sending off.
Rodrigo Palacio – 6 – Workhorse
Worked hard for the team as always and did well to set up the opener but didn’t quite have the quality when it came to finishing.

Hellas Verona
Rafael – 7 – Strong
Made two terrific saves to keep the game in Verona’s sight and wasn’t to blame for either goal.
Ivan Martic – 6 – Reasonable
He showed that he was only filling in at right-back at times but didn’t cost his teammates in any way.
Rafael Marquez – 7 – Solid
The experienced Mexican was very solid and got his foot in a number of times to prevent danger.
Vangelis Moras – 6 –Shaky
He was slightly shaky, being turned by Icardi for the goal and also gave the striker another good chance to score with a poor header in the first half.
Alessandro Agostini – 6 – Intelligent
The Greek did his job going forward, always looking to get the ball into the box towards Toni but didn’t have the best of games defensively.
Artur Ionita – 6 – Quiet
Had a great chance in the first half but was otherwise fairly quiet by his standards and was substituted in the last ten minutes.
Emil Hallfredsson – 7 – Leader
Did a very solid job in midfield to start off attacks and keep his team ticking as the game went on.
Mounir Obbadi – 6 – Average
Didn’t too much for his side but kept things ticking and very rarely gave the ball away.
Lazaros Christodoulopoulos – 8 – Lively
Very lively down the left, a constant thorn in Inter’s side and was involved in the first goal of the game.
Juanito Gomez – 7 – Threatening
Linked up well with Toni and also won a penalty for his side that resulted in Medel being sent off.
Luca Toni – 7.5 – Thorn in the side
A constant thorn in Inter’s side, gave their three centre backs a tough battle, took his goal well and was unlucky not to add to his tally.
