Sassuolo defeated Hellas Verona 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium on Saturday evening.

The vistors took the lead through Vangelis Moras, before Nicola Sansone and Domenico Berardi both scored to continue Sassuolo’s winning streak.

Andrea Consigli – 6 – Rock

Although the former Atalanta man was rarely tested besides Moras’ opening goal, he ensured his presence on many occasions.

Sime Vrsaljko – 6.5 – Advanced

The Croatian international was a main source of danger to Verona’s defence on the night with his great runs down the right-hand side.

Paolo Cannavaro – 6 – Strong

Looked solid throughout the game – managing to nullify the threat of Luca Toni.

Francesco Acerbi – 6 – Calm

Just like his defensive partner, the former AC Milan man’s defending was no-nonsense and cool, playing a major role in his side’s victory.

Federico Peluso – 6 – Effecient

Advanced forward whenever his side were in need for a goal, and provided sufficient coverage down the left-hand side too.

Saphir Taider – 6.5 – Hero

Although he wasn’t at his best on Saturday evening, the Algerian international showed up when his side needed him most – scoring a goal late on in the second half to clinch the victory for Eusebio Di Francesco’s men.

Francesco Magnagelli – 6.5 – Pivotal

The Sassuolo skipper was unlucky to score a goal of his own in the first half when his stinging strike slammed against the crossbar, but nevertheless he was a pivotal figure in Sassuolo’s line-up.

Simone Missiroli – 6.5 – Composed

Looked very composed throughout the evening and even helped out on the left-hand side, often redistributing play when he had the ball at his feet.

Domenico Berardi – 6.5 – Brave

The youngster wasn’t at his undisputed best, but was an active figure in the Neroverdi’s attack, often running at defenders and causing havoc in the Verona backline, getting his name on the assist sheet in the process.

Sergio Floccari – 5.5 – Anonymous

Looked very stale at many times during the game, before being taken off for Leonardo Pavoletti.

Nicola Sansone – 7 – Metronome

Duly rewarded with a goal on the evening as he calmly scored his side’s equaliser with a cool finish, was Sassuolo’s dangerman before being taken off for Antonio Floro Flores.

Antonio Floro Flores – 6 – Experienced

Was able to put more pressure on the Verona defence from the moment he was introduced, very unlucky to score near the end too.

Hellas Verona

Rafael – 6.5 – Faultless

The Brazilian made a couple of good saves in the first half, but could do nothing about the goals conceded on the evening.

Alejandro Gonzalez – 5.5 – Dry

Succumbed to Sassuolo’s attacking play for the Neroverdi’s second goal, and his offensive play was limited by the power of Sassuolo’s left flank.

Rafael Marquez – 5.5 – Shaky

Looked thoroughly shaky on many occasions, as he gave away the ball on several occasions in the first half, but contributed more to his side’s offensive play.

Vangelis Moras – 6 – Powerful

The Greek international, unlike his defensive partner, looked very solid on the evening – even scoring his side’s lone goal.

Alessandro Agostini – 6 – Aware

Defensively very aware on many occasions during the game, as he tried his best to limit the threat of the Sassuolo offence.

Artur Ionita – 6 – Important

Left the game with 20 minutes remaining because of an injury, but was rock solid during his time on the pitch, and also played a part in shifting from defence to attack.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis – 5.5 – Silent

The Greek was much more present in the first-half, but failed to play his game against the Neroverdi’s tough midfield.

Emil Hallfredsson – 6.5 – Metal

The Iceland international frequently shifted from defence to attack, providing both grit and a creative spark in the middle of the park.

Lazaros Christodoulopolous – 6 – Satisfactory

Operated more on the left-hand side for the Gialloblu, and played a role in his side’s transition from defence to attack.

Luca Toni – 5.5 – Isolated

Had a few chances to score on the night, but found himself isolated for large parts of the game.

Nico Lopez – 5 – Abysmal

Taken off with 35 minutes remaining, after failing to make an impact in Verona’s attacking play.

Juanito Gomez – 6 – Active

Extremely active from the point he was introduced in place of the abysmal Nico Lopez, but his efforts often succumbed against the Sassuolo set-up.

Gustavo Campanharo – 5.5 – Rusty

Introduced in place of Ionita due to the the Moldovan’s injury, but failed to perform as well as his predecessor.
