Torino dominated proceedings in their Europa League encounter with Belgian league leaders Club Brugge, but failed to find the net in a game which somehow ended 0-0.
The hosts attacked from both flanks throughout and had numerous chances to score, but were repeatedly thwarted by a mixture of outstanding goalkeeping and poor finishing.

Torino
Daniele Padelli – 7 – Organiser
Padelli did well when called upon and kept the defence in front of him constantly on guard.
Cristian Molinaro – 7.5 – Relentless
Former Juventus star Molinaro never stopped running and had the freedom of the left flank for the entire evening. Should have scored late on and better end product at times could’ve resulted in victory.
Cesare Bovo – 7 – Solid
Bovo did well in one-on-one situations and showcased a strong positional sense.
Pontus Jansson – 7 – Maurauding
Swedish centre-back Jansson got caught in possession on a couple of occasions in the first half, but improved in the second and set away several forward moves for his team with strong running out of defence.
Emiliano Moretti – 5.5 – Quiet
Ex-Genoa and Valencia man Moretti got a yellow card for a silly handball in his own half and rarely contributed.
Matteo Darmian – 6.5 – Wayward
Captain Darmian showed a great amount of willingness when getting into the final third, but his shooting and crossing were way off the mark.
Omar El Kaddouri – 6 – Fleeting
Belgian-born Moroccan international El Kaddouri started slowly, but grew into the game as it wore on. One particular burst into the box during the second half almost led to a goal for the home side.
Alessandro Gazzi – 5.5 – Tidy
The midfielder was neat on the ball and kept possession for his side reasonably well.
Marco Benassi – 7 – Blockbuster
Young Benassi was another who had a quieter opening period before sparking into life after the break. Crossed well for a Martinez header that almost got past Ryan, while also having a powerful shot saved by the Australian late on.
Josef Martinez – 7.5 – Livewire
Venezuelan forward Martinez was a thorn in Club Brugge’s side all evening, with two outstanding goalscoring opportunities coming his way through sheer determination. Great movement on and off the ball; very unlucky not to register.
Amauri – 5 – Warhorse
The big strapping striker worked hard for his team in an effort to hold the ball up, but ultimately was ineffective. Sent an early header skywards when he should have done a lot better.
Substitutes
Giuseppe Vives (78 mins) – N/A
Marcelo Larrondo (88 mins) – N/A
Larrondo almost scored with his first touch when sending a downward header towards goal, but Ryan was again equal to it.
Club Brugge
Mathew Ryan – 8 – Stopper
Australian international Ryan celebrated his new contract by pulling out a series of wonderful saves to keep Torino at bay.
Thomas Meunier – 7 – Dependable
Looked composed on the ball and strong in the tackle.
Brandon Mechele – 7.5 – Covering
Got Duarte out of jail on at least two occasions and went in where it hurts countless times.
Oscar Duarte – 5 – Shaky
Duarte’s mis-control in the second half exposed his defensive partner and could have had dire consequences.
Lauren De Bock – 6.5 – Lacked focus
De Bock was decent in the first half, but conceded a stupid free-kick late on just outside the area which put his team under late pressure.
Timmy Simons – 7 – Captain
Veteran Simons put in a shift for his team, with most of his work done at the back when putting in plenty of clearances and blocks.
Francisco Silva – 5 – Anonymous
Didn’t do a great deal throughout.
Fernando Menegazzo – 5.5 – Unspectacular
Former Siena and Catania player Menegazzo failed to impress on his return to Italy.
Victor Vasquez – 7 – Lively
Spaniard Vasquez was a threat for the most part and got a couple of shots off which gave Padelli something to think about.
Felipe Gedoz – 7 – Wingman
Felipe didn’t show much in the first 45 minutes, but became involved in the second with numerous crosses from the right coming into the Torino box from the skilful Brazilian.
Nicolas Castillo – 6.5 – Tireless
Castillo worked very hard up front and looked dangerous in the area from set-pieces.
