Roma are reportedly planning a sensational move to bring Erik Lamela back to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League side paid the Giallorossi over €30 million in 2013 to take the talented Argentinian to White Hart Lane, but the player has, so far, failed to settle in London, prompting speculation of a return to Italy.

According to the London Evening Standard, Roma are considering an offer to purchase the player once again. However it is believed the 22-year-old has until the end of the current campaign to save his Spurs career.

Inter are also said to be monitoring the situation as new Nerazzurri coach looks to rebuild his side.

Lamela has made 12 Premier League appearances this season, but has yet to find the net.
