FC Bayern Munchen v AS Roma - UEFA Champions LeagueFormer Juventus and Italy striekr Gianluca Vialli believes that Roma are inexperienced at the highest level after falling 2-0 to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

The former Chelsea striker also stated that most of the Roma players looked uncomfortable playing against the German giants, consigning them to a second straight defeat.

“Roma lack experience. They have to grow if they are to compete in Europe,” Vialli told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Analysing the game tonight, a lot of Roma players looked uncomfortable against Bayern.

“Italian football is different from the rest of Europe. In Italy we have a slow pace to our games and there is too much emphasis on tactics.

“In other countries in Europe there is a higher pace to matches which often makes it difficult for Italian sides when they play in Europe as they are not used to this way of football.

“Italian teams have to change their approach when playing in the Champions League.

“It has to be said that Roma played better in Munich compared to a fortnight ago in Rome, but even so once again there were too many mistakes in defence.”
