Empoli defender Daniele Rugani has revealed that he’s only focused on helping his team avoid relegation this season and isn’t thinking about joining Juventus any time soon.

The 20-year-old, who is co-owned by the Bianconeri and currently playing for the Azzurri on loan, may not plan on making his move to the Old Lady in the immediate future, but admits that he looks up to Juve defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci and learns what he can from them.

Rugani spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his mission to aid Empoli in their fight to remain in the Serie A and commented on when he could complete a transfer to Juventus.

“It’s easy to be subject to comparisons at the start of your career,” said the Italy Under-21 international, who received his first call up to Antonio Conte’s senior squad on November 9.

“However, I always just try to do my best and look up to some Italian internationals like Chiellini and Bonucci as examples.

“The most difficult striker to defend? Sebastian Giovinco had created many difficulties for me.

“Juventus? I’m not thinking about that right now, I’m concentrated on avoiding relegation with Empoli, always getting on the pitch with the desire to do well.

“It’s too soon to talk about anything else.”
