Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is reportedly seen as the favourite to replace Rafa Benitez at Napoli in the event that the Spanish tactician ends his relationship with the club in the near future.
The 54-year-old Partenopei coach has been repeatedly linked with a move back to former club Liverpool, where he previously worked from 2004-10, due to the Premier League team’s current struggles under Brendan Rodgers and it seems the Serie A side have already lined up a replacement for him.
According to Sport Mediaset, Mihajlovic’s impressive run at the helm of the Blucerchiati this term has pleased Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has apparently developed a strong admiration for the Serbian.
Sampdoria and Mihajlovic will play host to the Neapolitan side on December 1 and will be looking to secure a victory as they currently sit in fourth place with 21 points, just one point behind Benitez’s men, on the Serie A table.
