Empoli coach Maurizio Sarri was a very happy man when speaking to the media after his side’s 2-0 victory away to Parma on Sunday afternoon.
Goals in each half meant that his side move up to 13th in the Serie A table, having won against Lazio before the international break.
Sarri spoke to Sky Sport Italia afterwards and said: “I think that Parma’s approach was a good one to the game, to be honest.
“They were good opponents and made the first 15-20 minutes very difficult for us because I think that we came out a little slowly but we built up as the half went on, almost to a crescendo when we found the opening goal.
“Then we managed to get another at the opening to the second half which was very important.”
He added: “In the end, I think we took the foot off the pedal a little because we knew had did enough but we played a good game and this is great stuff for us to be winning two successive games in Serie A.”
