Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has revealed that Inter target Alessio Cerci is unhappy with his current role at the club.

Cerci joined the Rojiblancos in the summer transfer window from Torino but he has found his opportunities limited and Simeone is aware of the situation after the player voiced his unhappiness during the international break.

“Reading the newspapers I have learned that Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter want Cerci because I have not given him the chance to play,” he told reporters at a press conference.

“Obviously Atletico Madrid have a great squad. I do not mind the statements of Alessio, I have not taken them as words against the coach.

“I have  to think about the team and it is hard when you have Cerci, Raul Garcia, [Mario] Mandzukic, [Antoine] Griezmann and Raul Jimenez. It is impossible to play them all.

“There is not a lack of trust and it is only one choice, I don’t coach individually, I train the squad as a whole.”
