Udinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni has insisted that his side harbour the same ambition’s as the league’s top teams in challenging for European places this season.

The Zebrette currently sit in joint third place with three other side’s on 16 points and Stramaccioni is hoping that a win against Genoa on Sunday will cement their credentials as a challenger for the last Champions League spot.

“We will play an open game against Genoa,” Stramaccioni stated at his pre-match press conference ahead of Genoa’s visit to Udine.

“We are a team that has the same ambitions as Lazio, AC Milan or Inter, and we must keep our ultimate goal in mind. There is a lot of work do to, but it is normal because we have a very young team.

“[Antonio] Di Natale? If I lined him up against Fiorentina is is because I have deemed him fit to play. If he’s fit he will play. The changes in personnel are caused by players situations and not decisions from me.”

Stramaccioni has been the Udinese coach since June having previously had a spell on the Inter bench.
