Fiorentina defender Nenad Tomovic says the Viola will aim to seal top spot in Group K in Thursday’s Europe League tie with Guingamp.
The full-back has started all four group matches for Vincenzo Montella’s side, who hold first place with 10 points- ahead of their French rivals on seven points.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the Serbian said: “Tomorrow, we want to continue on the positive path we’ve been on in Europe by sealing first place in the group.”
“Guingamp are a good team- especially at home- but we will do everything to win.”
The Gigliati defence has been so somewhat inconsistent this season; Tomovic has played a role in solid clean sheets against the likes of Udinese, but also in untidy defeats- such as the 3-1 loss at Sampdoria.
“We always try to give our best, whether we play three or four in defence. We try to be well organised and follow the coach’s orders.”
Already-qualified Fiorentina could have sealed the group leadership at home to PAOK in their last European fixture, but were held to a 1-1 draw that ended their 100% record.
“For now we are focussed on the remaining group matches, then we will see what happens.
“As a team we have improved so much in the years, and one of our goals is to reach the Champions League.”
