Torino coach Giampiero Ventura was full of praise for Club Brugge goalkeeper Mat Ryan and his part in preventing the Granata from scoring

The draw leaves the Turin side in second place in Group B of the Europa League, and they can guarantee progress to the knockout stages with a win over FC Copenhagen on December 11.

“Faced with a great performance against a very strong team and a goalkeeper who performed at least three or four truly extraordinary saves,” Ventura told Sport Mediaset.

“I have to compliment him [Ryan], some of those saves were incredible. However the result did not reflect the game.

“In moments like this nothing goes your way, so you just need the patience to keep working and hope the tide turns.

“I think Torino played a great game with great football. Our position in Serie A might be deficient, but we could’ve had five or six more points if we hadn’t failed to convert three crucial penalties.

“Those moments can affect overall judgment of team performances.”
