Former Dutch and AC Milan midfielder Mark Van Bommel believes hisĀ former side will take all three points against city rivals Inter in the upcoming Derby della Madonnina.

Van Bommel joined the Rossoneri from German giants Bayern Munich in 2011, becoming an important part of their starting 11 until 2012 when he made a return to his former club PSV Eindhoven.

“I played in two Milan derbies and for me, it is the most beautiful game in the world. The fans areĀ fantastic,” said the 37-year-old to Milan’s official channel.

“My first derby was fantastic and after a few seconds Pato scored and the stadium exploded. It was amazing to win 3-0. We had to win that game because we were coming off a defeat against Palermo.

“In my second derby on the other hand, I hit the the crossbar.”

“I am definitely picking the Rossoneri.”

The Oranje midfielder went on to speak about his former teammate and new Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi and also commented on Dutch internationals Marco Van Ginkel and Nigel De Jong.

“Inzaghi? I always thought he could be a coach. His vision of the game was always very precise.

“Van Ginkel is a good player. He is a young midfielder who runs a lot and that’s good for both the defense and attack. He has great quality.

“I love Nigel (De Jong) so much as a player and as a person. He is very similar to me, playing for the team and not for himself. He is a very important player for the team and in the locker room. Players like him are few.”
