Inter legend Javier Zanetti believes Mateo Kovacic could be the man to make the difference against AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday.

The current vice-president was speaking at the ‘Jumping Parma’ event, aimed at raising money for the foundation in memory of Italian motorcycle hero Marco Simoncelli.

“We had fun here and most of all, it was for a good cause,” he said when speaking to TMW about the event. “I also scored a few goals! But the important thing is to raise money for Marco’s foundation.

“The derby? It is going to be an exciting game from all points of view. We are preparing as best we can in the hope that the guys can play a good game. Who could be the decisive man? I think Kovacic.”

He also dismissed notions that his side would come into the match as favourites and says the club are aiming for an upturn in fortunes following the arrival of Roberto Mancini.

“There are no favourites in a game like this,” the Argentine added. “It is a game in which all you can do is arrive in the best possible shape.

“Mancini? He is now part of the family. Mazzarri did great work and had a lot of effort with the staff and you must give respect to his commitment. Now we will fight to try and get as high as we can in the table.”
