Enigmatic coach Zdenek Zeman has told football fans his reasons for joining Sardinia club Cagliari this season, despite numerous offers from other clubs.
Despite his sacking back in February 2013, the former Roma tactician was until recently still contracted to the Giallorossi, but the expiration of that deal made him one of the most interesting and available coaches on the market.
Zeman told monthly magazine Calcio2000, “A coach hopes that he will always be in work. Seeing that my contract ended on June 30, I had received offers from various clubs.
“I chose Cagliari because there had been a change in ownership and there was talk of a new project. And I like working on new projects.”
The Czech tactician, who is famed for his insistence on always playing with a 4-3-3 formation, currently sits 15th in Serie A with the Rossoblu.
