AC Milan have reportedly begun negotiations with Palermo for defender Ezequiel Munoz with hopes of landing the player during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old will see his contract with the Rosanero expire in June 2015 and may be open to making an early exit from the Sicilian side this winter, with Rossoneri boss Pippo Inzaghi apparently ready to bring the centre back to Milan.

According to Tuttosport, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has been in contact with Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini in recent weeks and could be preparing to make a serious bid for the Argentine in January.

Munoz, who joined the Aquile from Boca Juniors for a fee of around €5 million in 2010, has scored four goals and provided two assists in his total of 129 league appearances for Palermo since his arrival, making 11 Serie A appearances this term thus far.

Reports suggest that the defender is currently valued at around €4 million.
