Massimiliano Allegri Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has stated that the Bianconeri are as motivated as Napoli to win the Suppercoppa Italiana when the two clubs meet on Monday.

The 27th edition of the competition takes place in Doha, Qatar and the Bianconeri boss feels his side are ready for the challenge despite the long journey and potential fatigue from Thursday night’s 3-1 win against Cagliari in Sardinia.

“We did our job on Thursday against Cagliari and now we must concentrate on Monday’s game,” Allegri told reporters at a press conference ahead of the big clash.

“The first goal of the season was to qualify from the group to the knock out stages of the Champions League and we have done that.

“The second was to win the Suppercoppa Italiana, but we expect a very tough encounter.

“Napoli are fighting for third place and the Suppercoppa Italiana, but we are just as hungry as them to win it.”

The Old Lady boss was asked about the fitness of star striker Carlos Tevez and was upbeat about his prospects of playing on Monday.

“Although he is not in his best condition, Carlos is vital to us and will be ready for the game.

“He will have a good break after the game and can recover while on vacation.”
