Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono feels his side are good enough to avoid the drop, despite a 3-0 defeat to Lazio which has left them perilously close to the relegation zone.
Colantuono complimented Lazio on their performance against Atalanta tonight despite his team’s loss, but also revealed that he thought his team had the capacity to perform better in the future.
“I’m sure that if we remain calm and compact we can avoid relegation this year,” the tactician commented.
“We knew that Lazio would be tough. This was not our game, we know that. We need to congratulate Lazio on a very good game.
“We are in the group of teams that are fighting for position.”
Atalanta sit in 15th position in the Serie A table and could be leapfrogged by Cagliari, Chievo and Torino should all three teams win their upcoming matches.
