David Manasseh, agent of Roma defender Ashley Cole, has denied rumours claiming that his client is on the verge of making his exit from the capital city club this winter and revealed that everything has been going fine in Rome.

The 33-year-old, who arrived at the Giallorossi from Chelsea over the summer, has fallen out of favour at the Serie A side in recent weeks and has been linked with a loan move back to former club Crystal Palace in January, though his agent insists all reports of the Englishman’s possible departure from the Lupi are false.

Manasseh spoke to the London Evening Standard about Cole’s current situation at Roma and confirmed his client’s intentions to remain in Italy and help Rudi Garcia’s men fight for the Scudetto this season.

“Ashley is loving life in Italy and in Rome,” said the agent. “He has never been happier. Whoever has given this information out is a disgrace because all it does is give fans of a football club false hope.

“Ashley is concentrating on trying to win trophies in Italy and, in particular, Serie A this season. Nothing else.”
