Aurelio De Laurentiis NapoliNapoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that the Azzurri will not be pushing to sign Palermo talent Paulo Dybala in January despite rumours claiming otherwise.

The 21-year-old, who has scored seven goals and provided four assists in his 15 Serie A appearances for the Rosanero this season thus far, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Sicilian side this winter with clubs including the Partenopei and Liverpool supposedly interested in signing him, though the Neapolitan club’s chief denies any interest in the striker’s services.

De Laurentiis spoke to MediaGol.it about the reports of a Napoli bid for Dybala and insisted that the San Paolo outfit have no need to strengthen their attack, while also criticising the market tactics of Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.

“Zamparini tries to patch up the finances of Palermo with a player, no matter how talented. This is not good,” said the 65-year-old.

“I cannot disrupt the finances of Napoli to please Zamparini. We have invested a lot into our attack already and we’re doing well, we don’t need anyone else.”
