Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij has revealed that he does not regret his decision to join the capital city club over the summer and insists that he’s proud to wear the Aquilotti shirt.
The 22-year-old, who arrived at the Biancocelesti from Feyenoord in July, has adapted well to life in the Serie A and has been able to become a key player in coach Stefano Pioli’s defensive plans this season, though he admits that he feels like he can always do better.
De Vrij spoke to FR12.nl about his time at Lazio thus far and commented on his choice to finally leave boyhood club Feyenoord for a new experience in Italy.
“I knew it was time to leave Feyenoord,” said the Dutch international. “I’ve now been in Rome for five months and I do not regret the choice I’ve made.
“I’m proud of what I did, but of course there is always the feeling that I can do more.”
