Diego Lopez - AC MilanDiego Lopez was optimistic about getting third place following AC Milan’s a tough 0-0 draw with Roma on Saturday in Serie A.

The Spaniard was excellent against the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico, and feels that he can grow further and give a lot to his new club, whilst also congratulating former club Real Madrid’s recent crowning as Club World Cup champions.

“Congratulations to Real Madrid, i’m glad to be here,” said Lopez to Sky Sport Italia.

“I will do the maximum in this great club, I’m working well with the staff and team-mates, we are growing.”

The 33-year-old added his thoughts on his side’s performance away to Roma and Milan’s goals in the Serie A table.

“Today there was a tremendous job by the whole team. Third place? Let’s look from game to game, Sunday to Sunday, we always try the three points and end of the year you will see.”

  1. Milan played well last night (they probably created the better openings) & are making good progress. Montolivo’s return is a big factor as he brings composure to the midfield & links the play.

Roma are starting to look very predictable, with one system & style of play. Their final ball is often lacking & when there is a good delivery, they don’t get enough bodies in the box to capitalize. I’d like to see Florenzi starting in central midfield as his timing & runs into the box can be very effective. Roma also have a problem with their forwards. Totti is looking tired these days & can be ineffective at times; whilst Destro isn’t good enough.
