Empoli goalkeeper Luigi Sepe, on loan from Napoli, has been linked with a move to the capital to join Serie A title chasers Roma.

Roma have turned their attention to the goalkeeping position following veteran Morgan De Sanctis’ recent dip in form. Pepe and De Sanctis are former teammates from their time together in Naples.

According to reports from Rai Sport, Roma have contacted the player’s agent to inquire about his availability following a string of heroic performances between the posts for the Azzurri.

The 23-year-old has made ten appearances for Empoli this season, while also completing successful loan periods at both Pisa and Virtus Lanciano between 2011-2014. Sepe has also represented Italy at U-18 and U-19 levels.
