Fiorentina are reportedly closing in on a short term deal for former AC Milan and Brazil striker Alexandre Pato.
The Viola are struggling in attack with Giuseppe Rossi still sidelined through injury and the German Mario Gomez yet to make an impact on Serie A.
Firenzeviola.it have suggested that Pato’s current club Corinthians, would be happy to part-fund the forward’s wages in return for a six month loan move once the January transfer window opens.
The player, known as ‘the duck’, joined the Rossoneri in 2007 and scored on his league debut against Napoli.
However, despite notching 51 goals in 117 appearances for the Italians, injuries and a sharp decline in form saw him leave the San Siro for a return to Brazil at the start of 2013.
