Galliani - AC MilanAdriano Galliani still believes that AC Milan can clinch third place in Serie A and qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Rossoneri currently sit just two points behind Napoli, who are currently third, but lie in seventh place but Galliani feels that Filippo Inzaghi’s squad can put a run together in the second half of the season.

“We have to believe in it [securing third place] and get into the Champions League,” the Milan vice-president told Milan Channel.

“Two seasons ago we had 30 points from the first half of the season and 42 from the second half.

“We have 25 points with three games to go until the halfway point, we must go forwards at the same pace we showed during the first seven games when we picked up 14 points.

“To qualify for the Champions League one needs more than 70 points.”

Galliani also addressed the Rossoneri’s recent upturn in form against Napoli and Roma.

“We are growing, we feared these last two games but we have shown ourselves to be on the same level as Roma and Napoli.”
