Roma were eliminated from the Champions League following a 2-0 loss to English Premier League champions Manchester City Wednesday night.

Roma conceded a goal on the hour-mark to Frenchman Samir Nasir before giving up a second late in the game to Pablo Zabaleta.

Speaking after the game to Sky Italia, Garcia spoke about the team’s shortcomings in Europe’s premier club competition.

“Manchester City are strong, we knew it,” stated Garcia. “Maybe we missed a bit of support to our strikers, especially to Gervinho.

“We had to pay more attention to their play against our defence, and in the first hour we were in trouble. The goal of Nasri, however, we could not let him kick it that way. ”

“Of course. In these big games experience makes the difference. We have to improve in some aspects and also rise to fight at this level.”

Garcia was asked about his choice not to play Daniele De Rossi.

“He had a little complicated week  and it was better left alone. I wanted to put him in, but after their goal I had to give priority to the attacking players.”
