Sampdoria striker Stefano Okaka has distanced himself from being labelled the new Mario Balotelli, stating he is looking to remain with the Blucerchiati for an extended period of time.

The ex-Roma forward has come into good form recently, scoring the winner on his Italy debut against Albania in November. His good form has brought along comparisons to Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli, but Okaka has played down those reports.

“I’m not the new Balotelli,” the 25-year-old told La Stampa.

Now settled at Sampdoria, Okaka is looking to remain at the Marassi after several loan moves created a stop-start element in his early career.

“I will be at Sampdoria for a long time, I am fine here.

“I do not plan on leaving, 100%. I want to be here for the foreseeable future.”

Okaka has scored three goals for the Blucerchiati this season, making 14 appearances.
