Inter and AC Milan are reportedly both interested in signing Manchester City’s Serbian defender Matija Nastasic.

Nastasic joined City in the summer of 2012 from Fiorentina after spending a year in Serie A, a move which included a part-exchange with fellow former Partizan defender Stefan Savic.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that Manuel Pellegrini is prepared to let the 21-year-old leave on loan and that Inter have the edge over their city rivals in acquiring the player in January.

With rumours circulating that summer signing Nemanja Vidic could leave the Nerazzurri, Nastasic would be seen as a direct replacement for his fellow Serbian.

Should the Rossoneri fail in their pursuit, they are reportedly considering Palermo’s Ezequiel Munoz as an alternative.

The 24-year-old Argentine’s contract expires at the end of the season and so would be eligible to move to the San Siro for free.
