Roberto Mancini Inter MilanInter boss Roberto Mancini has revealed that he hasn’t given up on third place and the all-important last Champions League spot.

The Nerazzurri currently sit 11th, seven points off Napoli in third, but the coach is adamant he has not given up hope of securing a spot in Europe’s top competition.

“I’m happy to be back home after a few years around Europe,” Mancini told Inter Channel at the clubs Christmas dinner.

“I do not know why I came back, but I think I did it for the love that binds me to this club.

“It will not be easy, but I thank the people who are behind the scenes and can say that the team will do everything to try to qualify for the Champions League, not the Europa League.

“We will try. I think the guys will give their all and I hope that this is our Christmas gift. I take this opportunity to wish the president Thohir, Moratti and all of you [Merry Christmas].”
