Inter coach Roberto Mancini wants to sign Galatasary centre-back Semih Kaya in the January transfer window to shore up the Nerazzurri’s leaky defence.

The 23-year-old Turkey international impressed Mancini while he was coach of Galatasary last season and has put in some impressive performances for club and country over the past two seasons.

According to Sozcu.com.tr, Mancini could use Nemanja Vidic as a makeweight in any potential deal as the Serbian has struggled since his move to the San Siro in the summer.

Kaya has 18 months left on his contract with Istanbul club but would still command a substantial fee, so a cash plus Vidic could suit all parties as the Nerazzurri are under strict financial constraints from UEFA to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules .

Kaya has been at Gala since the age of 15 and has spend loan spells at Gaziantepspor and Kartalspor in 2010 and 2011 respectively but has become a regular in the heart of the 19 times Turkish champions defence in the past two seasons.
